Sorry to strat a new thread by I cannot comment in the last thread.
Still the same error. The file was in the admin subfolder. Sorry I did not look properly.
The file is referenced several times in the XML file is that correct?

<installfile>install.artbannersplus.php</installfile>
and
<files folder="admin">
...
<filename>install.artbannersplus.php</filename>

I can create a user on the site so you can try yourself to install it. Already check all folder permission and installed another component without error.

Now I have tested to install the extension and the error is not in the .zip file... If we look at the error message it only says that the file could not be copied "Could not copy PHP install file"

That meens that the file exists but cannot be copied into the correct place.

This error will occur when the file install.php in NOT located in the root folder. You will find a fix for it here.

Thanks for the explanation. I tried to install the componnet on a demo server and it worked without problem. So I knew it must be a problem with my installation.

Well it's our fault as well.. joomla as been kind on us developers until the 1.5.10 version.. now they got abit stricter

I just downloaded com_jr-artbannersplus_090416.zip and when installing i have this same error!

What is wrong?
